What is Quantum Thinking?
I have called what I do Quantum Thinking, which is based on a combination of NLP, Quantum Physics, and Positive Psychology. It was born out of my personal need to develop something that would enable us to understand how we function as human being and, possibly more importantly, how we could play and active part in that functioning process.
It came about because I'm naturally skeptical. When I attended my NLP training I was very impressed with the theory and methodology that underpinned some of the skills and techniques but, if I am to be honest, I was less impressed with the way in which we were just expected to just believe that they worked, so I started to look for evidence to support what I had learned in NLP, and that's when I stumbled across the world of quantum physics.
This led me into the research and findings of people such as Joseph LeDoux who's work is considered to be at the cutting edge of the psychology of brain science, and Dr. Martin Seligman, the founder of Positive Psychology, a new branch of psychology which focuses on the empirical study of such things as positive emotions, strengths-based character, and healthy institutions. This has lead me to explore the writings and philosophy of the Dalai Lama and the principles of Tibetan Buddhism because what was being now proved by the sub-atomic sciences has been practiced by Buddhists for over 2,500 years and this Eastern Philosophy helped to bridge the gap between what western psychology and psychiatry can't explain. In short one thing led to another, but it all started with one thing.
You see I, like many of you, will want a better quality of life for ourselves or others. Interestingly enough the two most natural states for human beings are relaxed and happy. Every other state we produce we have to work at, and the more we work at it the more of a dominant trait it becomes in our character. This is because we have embedded certain ‘grooves’ of thinking in the neural networks of our minds, which, over time, become known as habits. These habits become either our prisoners or liberators, depending on whether they function as an asset or a liability in terms of how they attribute or not to the overall quality of our lives.
However, the simple truth is that if something can be learned, it can be re-learned. You have very possibly upgraded the software on the very computer you are reading this on, yet we never seem to upgrade the software of our own minds, forever putting up with outdated thinking styles and habits that no longer serve a functional purpose. Do you know that most people spend more time planning their weddings and holidays than they do their lives!!
My aim is to help individuals and businesses upgrade their personal software so that it functions at the best of it’s ability, consistent with increased personal productivity and focus. The simple fact is that, if you don’t know where you are going, that's exactly where your likely to end up.
Time to change. Time to take control. Time to be the person you were put on the earth to be.
